The pearls are faux pearl. We intentionally use lightweight faux pearls on the beaded side. Real pearls are much heavier and would pull the necklace off-center, causing the heavier side to slide to the lowest point while wearing. The faux pearls keep the overall weight balanced so the pendant sits beautifully in front.
